RETROFIT STREET |
The Universal Retrofit Street Series, often just called the Street Series is designed to be a retrofit light. It gets its name and its flexibility from the plate of metal upon which the lighting element is mounted. This plate can be sized to the existing shoebox or other housing and then installed directly into the existing fixture (after current bulb and ballast are removed, of course). Because the plate can be shaped to any existing fixture housing or can be mounted directly to other surfaces, this tends to be a very flexible retrofit design. Also, because of the simple design, it is relatively inexpensive to produce, which is good for everyone.
Street Series VentingThe efficient heat sink is one of the primary features of the Street Series to ensure heat is quickly dissipated away from the LED light chips, which ensures the lights are able to last well beyond the 50,000 hours they are rated to last.
Additionally, a fan rated for 100,000 hours helps to ensure that the LEDs stay cool, even when operating inside housings that can get very hot.

Retrofit Street Installations
The Retrofit Street light provides a convenient replacement for High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights, like those used in street lights and other, similar housings. It comes standard with a Mogul Base E-40 (screw-in) interface that can be directly replaced into many existing fixtures.
The Retrofit Street series is designed for outdoor or indoor applications and can often result in as much as 50% or more in energy savings when compared to traditional lighting such as Mercury Vapor, Metal Halide, and other HID lighting. The unit comes with a swivel head that enables it to direct light within a 360º plane, so light can be placed where desired. This enables it to meets requirements for Dark Sky ratings when installed via specific methods. |
Retrofit Street Light Pattern
The Retrofit Street Series, as with most Leading Edge Design lights, is normally configured to emit light in a beam that emits light across an is approximately 120º pattern, but can also be configured (using special optics at the individual LED level) to emit light in a wider or more narrow focus to place light exactly where you need it. Additional available patterns include round, oval, rectangle and others. Let us know what your needs are and we'll find a solution that fits!
